Notes
- Description
-
Mertie West and her family pose in front of a small waterfall along Lee Vining Creek on the Tioga Grade (probably the Tioga Pass Road, State Route 120). The waterfall runs down the rocks directly behind them. There are plants growing around it.
Mertie West was H. H. West's wife. Forrest Whitaker was Mertie's brother and Agnes Whitaker was Forrest's wife. Abraham Whitaker was Forrest and Mertie's father. Romayne Shaw was Mertie and Forrest's nephew and Edith Shaw was his wife. Based on the date of the photograph, the little girl may be Shirleyana Shaw, rather than Eleanor Shaw. Both Shirleyana and Eleanor were Romayne Shaw's daughters.
