There is a bag strapped to the car's running board. There are houses and palm trees across the street. The shadow of the person taking the photograph is visible in the foreground.
William Shaw was H. H. West's brother-in-law.

Text from negative sleeve: Twin Lakes, 1929. [Handwritten: 1929.] We leave 2223 Griffin Ave in our Chandler car. Hebard West in car, Will Shaw and H. H. West standing beside it. We reach Twin Lakes above Bridgeport, Calif. and make camp under a pine tree by the lower lake. Using a dish towel too long, when the rest of the party came in to the camp they noticed the dirty towel and called the place "The Camp of the Dirty Dish Towel." 2 negatives. Will Shaw showing H. H. West Jr. how to catch grasshoppers. 4 negatives.
