Crowds line both sides of the street outside of the Los Angeles Hall of Justice (210 W. Temple St.) during the arraignment or trial of William Edward Hickman for the kidnapping and murder of Marion Parker.
Possibly related to Los Angeles Times article, "Scene of Drama in Court: Hickman Amazes Jostling Throng by Indifference as Judge Sets Arraignment for Thursday," 28 Dec 1927: A1.
The initial hearing took place December 27th, but was held over until the 29th, giving time for Hickman's lawyer to appear. Hickman was tried and sentenced to death. He was executed at San Quentin, 22 October 1928.
