Text from newspaper caption: The Fighting Spirit That Characterized His Career as a Public Servant is caught in the above poses of Thomas Lee Woolwine, brilliant attorney and former District Attorney of Los Angeles County, who was summoned by death early yesterday afternoon at the end of nearly two years of serious illness. Death followed a relapse of last Saturday from which the weakened man was unable to rally. For eight years and a half as District Attorney, Mr. Woolwine gave his personal attention to practically every case that found its way into his department, and made legal history in California. He was twice a candidate for Governor on the Democratic ticket, and upon his retirement from public life two years ago was one of the most widely known men in the State. (Times Photos.)
