Commander Richard E. Byrd and his traveling party walk through the railroad yard upon their arrival in Los Angeles. A set of railroad tracks enters frame from the lower right corner and stretches back on an angle to the left. Commander Byrd walks, off-center to the right, through the tracks and towards camera. He holds onto his dog's leash. His dog Igloo walks over the left track beam. Behind Commander Byrd, several of his traveling companions walk in a large group towards camera. Along the left edge, a man stands in partial view.
