Photograph of 5 ballet students of the Elena Vartova dance school performing on stage. The dancers, dressed as gypsies in blouses, belts and dirndl skirts, are in mid-air and each holds a tambourine. A father in a suit with a young child is visible in off stage in the background.
The negative for image ark no. 21198/zz002d6wrp is inscribed "Vartova" on the edge. The image depicts a scene from a 1951 performance of the opera "La Traviata."
