Portions of Santa Monica High School were destroyed during the earthquake of 1933. Its reconstruction fell under the Works Project Administration (WPA). The project was completed in 1939.
Two young women seated on steps at Santa Monica High School campus. Both wear sweaters and skirts; oxford shoes worn by one of them. One young lady holds what is likely the school newspaper and looks up at her companion while the other looks down at the paper. Students photographed from above.
