Notes
- Description
- Two color sketches representing the Yukon River’s varied landscapes. At top: Bartlett manipulates the natural landscape, creating a sky of dark and light green bands of color. A red ribbon floats in from above and out to the left of the image. The band is highlighted with violet. The pink and violet tines from above are reflected in the glaciers below. Bottom: The sun rises in a purple-hewn sky above the Yukon River, its red and gold rays radiating to the image edge and illuminating the floodplain at foreground. Adelbert Bartlett, artist.
