The Hotel Windemere was located at 1431 Ocean Ave. Built in 1909, it was demolished in 1962. John Lindsay, a southern California architect, owned the building from at least 1954 until its demolition. According to newspaper reports from 1954 to 1956, he and Jane Wooster Scott were a couple.
Photograph of a painting in an American naïve style of a snowscape scene with a church and houses. Signed "Wooster," the painting is an early work by Jane Wooster Scott (b. 1929). The painting hangs on a wall covered in striped wall paper at the Windemere Hotel.
