At center, Gordon S. Northcott sits in court with his defense attorneys during his trial in Riverside. He and his lawyers sit in a row behind the counsel's table. His face is blurry as he turns to look to the camera. To the right of Northcott, Norbert Savay sits. Behind and to the left of Northcott, in no particular order, sit attorneys A. H. DeTremaudan, David Sokol and J. McKinley Cameron. Spectators sit in the gallery, behind and to the right of the defense. Gordon Stewart Northcott and his mother Louisa were accused of kidnapping, abusing & murdering 4 boys on their chicken ranch in Riverside County. Louisa confessed to killing one boy, Walter Collins, and was sentenced to life in prison. Gordon was tried and convicted on 3 counts for murdering Louis & Nelson Winslow & an unidentified Latino boy. He was executed by hanging on October 2, 1930.
