A road stretches across the bottom edge and winds into the distance along the right half of the image. Behind and to the left of it, a construction pit sits in partial view. It is viewed from a slightly elevated perspective. Reinforced concrete walls line the pit. One of the Power House #2's surviving generators stands on its original base along the left edge. At center and to the right of the pit, a tall towers rises beyond the top edge. Farther back on the worksite, a sawmill stands in partial view along the left edge, lumber lines the winding road, right-of-center, and cars park in front of a small building along the right edge. Canyon walls line the background. The water line of the St. Francis Dam disaster's flood waters is visible stretching across the canyon walls.
