The "Germany" float features a log cabin emitting a wisp of smoke in front of the Schwarzwald--the Black Forest. A ski jumper (Russell Mercer) and bob-sledress (Esther May Muhleman) represent the German Youth Movement (Freideutsche Jugend). The float was designed by Georgia Josephine Chobe and is shown at the intersection of Orange Grove Blvd. and Colorado Blvd.
The theme of the 1932 forty-third annual Rose Parade was "Nations & Games in Flowers," looking forward to the 1932 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles - Caption
