Out of an old family album in the possession of his sister, Mrs. Mary Van Ness Leavitt … were culled these old photographs giving an intimate glimpse into the early life of Herbert Hoover, Secretary of Commerce, and the outstanding candidate for the Republican nomination for the Presidency. … The Times is indebted to Mrs. Leavitt for the old photographs, reproduced below with a number of the most recent pictures taken of the Secretary.
