- Lake Sherwood is a reservoir created by the Sherwood Dam completed in 1904. The dam is located in the Santa Monica Mountains near Thousand Oaks, California. The construction of the dam created a 165 acre lake that was originally named Potrero Lake and later renamed Lake Sherwood. The lake was used as a film location for the 1922 film "Robin Hood" and the 1938 film "The Adventures of Robin Hood," among other movies.
