Dorothy I. Height, born in Richmond, Virginia, was a civil rights leader and served for forty years as the President of the National Council of Negro Women. She was a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal. She had also served as the president of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She died at Howard University Hospital at the age of 98.
Bessie M. Gant was a columnist from the Pittsburgh Courier. - Description
