Dorothea Towles Church was the first successful African American fashion model in Paris, modeling on the runways of Christian Dior and Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1950s. She also modeled in Manhattan for several years. Before embarking on her modeling career, she earned a master's degree in education fron the University of Southern California.
Dr. Lincoln Shumate was a prominent Los Angeles doctor.
Herman Spurlock was known for putting together shows and entertainment for nightclubs and fundraisers. He was well known on Central Avenue - Description
