Beulah Honoré, a former dancer with the Regalettes in Chicago, and also an interior designer and milliner, was married to Gideon Honoré, a member of Duke Ellington's orchestra.
Sarah Griffin was the wife of dentist Tom Griffin.
Emily Brown Childress Portwig was well-known for her civic work in Los Angeles and nationally. She attended UCLA and Howard University, and conducted graduate work in bacteriology at USC.
Dr. Clifford Gordon was a physician and surgeon. He was originally from Fargo, North Dakota. He went to USC for pre-medical training and eventually attended Howard University's School of Medicine. He died in 1952 at the age of 51.
Norma Green was the wife of actor Eddie Green. Mrs. Green was a singer, and she played the piano and violin. The couple had a daughter, Elva Diane.
Margaret Carter René was married to the composer Otis René.
Tom Griffin was a dentist.
Otis René was the brother of Leon René, and with him and Clarence Muse composed the song "When It's Sleepy Time Down South" (Louis Armstrong's theme song). The song was composed at the Baumann-René drugstore on 14th and Central, where Otis was a pharmacist.
Marjorie Bright McPherson was married to Dr. Henry McPherson. She was a school administrator.
Jefferson D. Fowler was a medical doctor.
Yolande Stovall was the wife of Dr. Leonard Stovall.
Dr. Frank Robinson was a medical doctor on Central Avenue.
Dr. Leonard Stovall (1887-1956) was the first African American doctor to be appointed to the staff of Los Angeles County General Hospital.
Emily Brown Portwig was a Los Angeles pharmacist.
