- FREEWAY GROUNDBREAKING--Gov. Reagan is at the controls of a bulldozer as it breaks ground for extension of Harbor Freeway which will link freeway with the Vincent Thomas Bridge leading to Terminal Island. With Reagan is State Assemblyman Vincent Thomas (D-San Pedro), for whom bridge is named. The $10.5 million freeway project also will involve widening to six lanes from Pacific Coast Highway.
