- The space shuttle Challenger, successor to the Columbia, as it was towed along a Lancaster street on its way from Rockwell plant in Palmdale to Edwards Air Force Base. After Columbia lands Sunday, Challenger is scheduled to be flown to Florida atop 747 to be outfitted with engines.
