- ENGLISH: East Africa and Rhodesia newspaper issue 1585 of February 24, 1955 Mr James Johnson a labour member , made the extravagant assertion that ''The civil war in Kenya is not and has never been a war of black against white , it is a civil war among the Kikuyu people black against black''.He later continued to say that although far more Kikuyu than Europeans had been killed by the rebels, it was merely incidental to their main purpose which was to drive out Europeans and impose Kikuyu rule over other Africans.
