- This image appears with article "Printing Official to Retire: Senaca Beach Tomorrow Steps Down from Job in Open-Shop Organization," Los Angeles Times, 30 Sep. 1929: A6. Senaca C. Beach began his long career in printing and publishing in Oregon. He served in county government in Oregon as well as organizing for printers' unions nationally. In 1905, he was persuaded by Los Angeles-based printers to perfect a trade organization in Los Angeles. He moved to California and helped organize the Printing Board of Trade. He long served as executive secretary of the organization, a division of the Merchants' and Manufacturers' Association.
