Members of the 10th Cavalry celebrate the 94th birthday of Lieutenant William M. Dunn.
William M. Dunn joined the "Buffalo Soldiers" of the 10th cavalry in 1898. He served in Cuba and Philippines, fought Indians in Wyoming, and in the Spanish-American War. He moved to Los Angeles in 1910 and the 1940 Census lists him as a realtor.
Woodrow Wilson Woolwine "Woody" Strode (1914 –1994) was an American athlete and actor. He served in the United States Army during World War II. A decathlete and football star, he was one of the first African American players in the National Football League in the postwar era. He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Spartacus in 1960.
