(1) Incomplete ledger: pages 1-7 are missing in the original and page 8 has been glued to the previous one. (2) The alternative title refers to that handwritten on the ledger’s cover. (3) Originally a “caderneta de colono”, i.e. laborer’s booklet, the first 15 pages of this ledger contain legal information officially printed by the Brazilian government for agricultural laborers: Decree No. 6437 from March 27, 1907; Regulatory mark of Laws No. 1150 from January 5, 1904, and of No. 1607 from December 29, 1906; Law No. 1299-A from December 27, 1911, “Patronato Agrícola”; and a standard contract for agricultural labor allowing for private adjustments. (3) On the back of the cover and of the back cover, there are penciled notes about the delivery of products from the potter
