Description

Livro de registro da distribuição dos cafezais da fazenda Ibicaba aos trabalhadores colonos e eventualmente aos “ameieiros” (trabalhadores “à meia”). O livro traz dados nominais dos membros das famílias trabalhadoras, características demográficas (estado civil, sexo, idade, nacionalidade), local de residência na fazenda por colônia ou ponto de referência (Gramma Larga, Lage, Morro Alto, Pinheiro e Saltinho), número de cafeeiros cultivados, suas localidades e características básicas das residências, inclusive de lâmpadas elétricas.
Ledger with the distribution of coffee trees to colonist laborers in Ibicaba farm and, occasionally, to laborers under 50-50 crop-sharing (“ameieiros”). The ledger contains nominal data for each member of the households working in the farm, their demographic characteristics (marital status, sex, age, nationality), place of residence within the farm per colony or reference points (Gramma Larga, Lage, Morro Alto, Pinheiro, and Saltinho), number of coffee trees cultivated, their location, as well as basic information about the dwellings, including number of light bulbs.

(4) A única menção a uma data neste livro (1940) está na folha 24, referente à “Secção Saltinho e Pinheiro / Café da Fazenda”. Portanto, é provável que o conteúdo do livro cubra também o ano de 1939; no entanto, como não há evidência explícita a este respeito, nestes metadados atribuímos ao livro apenas o ano de 1940.

(2) The alternative title refers to that handwritten with red pencil on the ledger’s cover. (3) No typographical seal. (4) The only reference to a date in this ledger (1940) is on sheet 24, which refers to “Secção Saltinho e Pinheiro / Café da Fazenda”. It is therefore likely that the ledger’s content encompasses also the year 1939; however, as there is no explicit evidence in this regard, we attributed to this ledger only the year 1940 in these metadata.
