(1) A localização do original (local ID) refere-se ao título gravado na capa. (2) Sem selo da tipografia de origem. (3) O livro contém um índice nominal dos chefes de família 9 páginas antes das folhas de encerramento. (4) Um número significativo de contas foram assinadas pelos próprios colonos ou testemunhas. A maioria absoluta tem a assinatura do Sr. Antonio Fischer, daí a atribuição de autoria destes metadados. (5) O livro contém as seguintes folhas extras: (5.1) Uma folha de rascunho com o nome dos trabalhadores e entradas correspondendo a alguma unidade (I e ½), possivelmente em referência à colheita de café, foi originalmente colocada na página 5; (5.2) Um bilhete em alemão (1870) enviado de Rio Claro ao Sr. Laby, referente a operações em 1863 e 1864, foi originalmente colocado na página 5; (5.3) Três pedaços de papel, possivelmente usados para não borrar as folhas, foram originalmente colocados nas páginas 129, 365 e 371; (5.4) Uma conta avulsa em nome do Sr. Valentin Hartmann (1865-1866) foi originalmente colocada na página 215; (5.5) Um pedaço de papel em branco, possivelmente usado como marca-página, foi originalmente colocado na página 369.

(3) The ledger contains a nominal index of household heads, which is located 9 pages before the closing sheets. (4) The colonists themselves or other testimonies undersigned a large portion of the accounting information contained in this ledger. Mr. Antonio Fischer signed the vast majority, hence the attribution of authorship in this metadata. (5) The ledger contains the following extra sheets: (5.1) A rough draft with workers’ names and entries corresponding to some unit of account (I and ½), possibly referring to coffee harvests, was originally put on page 5; (5.2) A note written in German was originally put on page 5; it was sent from Rio Claro to Mr. Laby and makes reference to operations executed in 1863 and 1864; (5.3) Three pieces of paper, possibly used to avoid tint blots between sheets, were originally put on pages 129, 365, and 371; (5.4) One loose accounting slip in name of Mr. Valentin Hartmann (1865-1866) was originally put on page 215; (5.5) A blank scrap of paper, possibly used as a bookmark, was originally put on page 369.
