Esta publicación de Fempress, una alternativa de comunicación independiente centrada en las mujeres dentro del Instituto Latinoamericano de Estudios Transnacionales, se propone discutir sobre el movimiento, los derechos y la situación socioecónomica de las mujeres latinoamericanas. Además de contener varios ensayos, artículos y entrevistas escritas para la revista, la publicación también incluye una sección con notas breves informando sobre eventos relacionados con las mujeres en Latinoamérica, y otra reproduciendo artículos y noticias publicadas en periódicos locales. Los números van desde 1988 hasta el 2000, y tratan tópicos tales como el rol de las mujeres en la vida política del continente (particularmente preocupándose por la política formal y las candidatas femeninas a posiciones políticas), mujeres en el movimiento de trabajadores, derechos reproductivos, la cultura de la violación, y la violencia intrínseca a una sociedad patriarcal.
This publication by Fempress, an independent, woman-focused communicational alternative within the Instituto Latinoamericano de Estudios Transnacionales (Latin American Institute of Transnational Studies), intends to discuss topics concerning women's liberation, women's rights and women's social and economic conditions in Latin America. Besides containing various long essays, articles and interviews written for the magazine, the publication also includes a section with short articles informing about current events regarding women in Latin America, and another reproducing articles and news published in local newspapers. Issues range from 1988 to 2000, and they cover topics such as the role of women in the political life of the continent (particularly concerned with formal politics and women candidates to political positions), women in the labor movement, reproductive rights, rape culture, and the violence inherent to patriarchal society.
