- Caption: Granddaddy of all bowl games - the Rose Bowl game, the longest running college bowl game, has been played in Rose Bowl Stadium since 1923. Originally build to hold 57,000 spectators, the Rose Bowl has been enlarged through the years reaching a current capacity of 104,046. The Iowa Hawkeyes and Washington Huskies meet for the 68th Rose Bowl classic on January 1, 1982.
