Description

Timesheet of daily workers. Various labor categories and occupations: daily & piece rate laborers (camaradas), agricultural workers, skilled laborers/artisans (artistas) etc. Period: from February 1890 to October 1892. Detailed information about laborers' names, professions, number of worked days per month (from 1st to 31st), daily remuneration ("jornal"), total labor income, and occasional observations.
Livro de ponto dos trabalhadores. Diversas categorias de trabalhadores e profissões: camaradas, trabalhadores agrícolas, artesãos etc. Período: de fevereiro de 1890 a outubro de 1892. Detalhamento por nome, profissão, dias trabalhados por mês (de 1 a 31), remuneração diária ("jornal"), renda total do trabalho e eventuais observações.

(1) O título alternativo refere-se àquele manuscrito na capa. O nome mencionado no título é o do feitor. (2) Carimbo da tipografia "Ao Livro Azul" na folha de rosto. (3) A folha de abertura contém dados incompletos do ponto em outubro de 1890 e está fora da ordem cronológica, tendo sido fotografada conforme o original. O enquadramento imperfeito desta imagem justifica-se pela preservação do material original, ou seja, a página não foi descolada em sua parte interior para evitar interferências desnecessárias sobre o objeto. (4) Operações aritméticas manuscritas no verso da contracapa. (5) Correções e vistos feitos pela administração da fazenda a lápis vermelho e azul e à caneta. (6) Uma folha avulsa, rasgada na margem direita, contém dados sobre as contas dos trabalhadores.
(1) The alternative title refers to that handwritten on the ledger’s cover. The name mentioned in it is that of the foreman. (2) Stamp of the "Ao Livro Azul" typography on the coversheet. (3) The cover page contains incomplete data for the timesheet in October 1890 and is not in the correct chronological order, but has been digitized as in the original. The imperfect framing of the image is a consequence of the goal of preserving the original material, i.e. the page was not peeled off in its internal side to avoid unnecessary interventions on the object. (4) Arithmetic operations on the back of the back cover. (5) Corrections and checks ticked/made by the farm’s administration in red and blue pencils, as well as in ink. (6) An extra loose sheet, torn on the right margin, contain data about laborer’s balance accounts.
