- A cropped version of this image appears with the article "Judge to Read Love Letters: Flaming Missives Issue in Fawcett Balm Case, Said to be from Mrs. Binney to Plaintiff's Husband, Court Will Decide Whether Jury Should See Them," Los Angeles Times, 20 Jul. 1920: A3. In the summer of 1929, June Fawcett sued Harriet Binney for $100,000 for causing alienation of affection. Binney was "asserted to have stolen the love of June Fawcett's husband Clyde. Love letters between Binney and Clyde Fawcett became corroborating evidence in the proceedings.
