After an earthquake in 1933, the old Courthouse was condemned and set for destruction. The top floors were cleared in 1935 and it was demolished in 1936.
The old LA County Courthouse is surrounded by debris as the building is cleared. Chutes are seen under two of the windows in the back of the building.
