Thanks to the St. Leger sweepstakes sponsored by the Army and Navy Veterans of Canada there have been three local winners of large sums of money - optician Dr. Albert E. Finn, Anaheim resident Grace Witherill, and Van Nuys grocery store worker Evan Paul Briggs, who upon learning of his winnings wed girlfriend Loretta Frieda Winkler.

Finn, $30,000; Evan Paul Briggs, $5000; Mrs. Grace Witherill, $10,000.
