*All valid absentee ballots are counted in every election in California, regardless of the outcome or closeness of any race. For additional canvass of the vote information please visit our web site at www.ss.ca.gov/elections/elections_oc.htm.
Why vote with an "Absentee Ballot" ? This year, the popular answer to that question is, "Because I don't trust the electronic voting systems." Electronic voting machines are still under a bit of scrutiny. If you have reservations about whether your vote will actually be counted, you can rest assured that voting the old-fashioned way (on paper with pencil), your vote WILL BE COUNTED.
In addition, Absentee Ballots can cause the greatest surprise during an election because the totals tabulated are not disclosed until after the polls close!
You can fill out, print, and mail your application for Absentee Ballot by clicking here. When you are finished with it, YOU MUST MAIL IT TO YOUR COUNTY REGISTRAR. Click here for the list.
