YES ON PROP 72 CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES ER TRUTH UNIT

Email Response Unit to Perform Triage on Misinformation Campaign

Today, the Yes on Prop 72 coalition announced the creation of an email rapid response operation, called the ER Unit.  The Email Response Unit will provide the public and press with immediate information about the various lies, distortions and misrepresentations manufactured by the big corporations funding the effort to kill the Health Insurance Act.

The ER Unit will be staffed by doctors, nurses and other health care experts who are part of the health care coalition that represents over 120 California groups and organizations on the Yes on Prop 72 committee.  Rafael Ruthchild will direct the ER Unit, disseminating real data, hard facts and accurate information.

 “Our ER Unit will help respond to those opponents of health care who are trying to poison the body politic by putting out misinformation,” Steve Thompson of the California Medical Association said.  “It is important to respond because we know that if the voters are given the facts they will support a law that makes good on the promise that if you work you deserve health care coverage.”

The ER Truth Unit is kicking off the ER Unit with a list of the types of misinformation being created by the big corporations trying to take away health care protections from California’s employees.
